Project - Room

Since my mind needs to be occupied, I thought I need to look at changes I need to do, and I thought of my room.

I’m generally not much of a deco person… the only time I did get involved was to help my mother with her re-decoration of the living area downstairs about an year or so ago and let her handle the garden by herself. She liked the modern yet homely touch I wanted to bring in and though she wasn’t 100% into it, now when people compliment on what a nice job she’s done, it makes her happy.

I think I’ve got a bit of that in me now..

So, I’m going to re-do my room.

My room & my bro’s room is really small, compared to the other rooms in the house. My mum’s room – the master bed room is the biggest. In fact on countless occasions she did tell me to take her room and though I really wanted to, I didn’t feel good giving her my small room so told her I didn’t need it.

My room walls are in alternative sections of pink and cream. It might sound strange but it looks good and the painter liked my colour selections for the house when we were getting it painted. So I’m not going to get it re-painted coz frankly I can’t go through that mess again and I like the walls they way they’re right now.

I’m going to throw out my 2 cupboards. Maybe I’ll give them to a deserving family as they can be used and we really don’t have any space to keep them. I ordered a big new wardrobe and a nice dressing table which can hold all my stuff. They should be delivered in about a week or so…

I got a bigger shoe rack to keep all my foot-ware as half of them were all over the place and I want to see clean space in my room.

I’m going to re-position the stuff and probably thrown out my table too and maybe get a nice big beanbag to slump into when reading, listening to music or sit during my countless sleepless nights. Should see if a purple/violet one would be nice, and if I can find one...

Then as I go along, I’ll get more things to add… and I want a nice abstract painting or two as well to hang on the walls…

I plan to get new curtains too and when I asked my mum how much of material I would need, she was stunned and asked me if I was genuinely ok and that it’s very strange I’m looking into all this. Funny thing is, she doesn’t know the measurements so will get someone to check on it and let me know. No, not purple curtains as it wouldn’t go with the walls… I must see what will go best.

Then I’ll have my very own little space with my touch all through the way.

I’m excited. This should take about 2 weeks or so I think…

But the question is, what do I do next?  

I’m really broke already. I’m so not looking forward to my credit card bill. Then again, I never like it when it lands on my table.
